II. Itunes

I like to listen to music a lot and to be able to have a program that is easy and comprehendible to use is quite a relief. I personally happen to enjoy iTunes’s (version 8.0 and above) interface. Everything is categorized and labeled. For example, everything is divided on the left into different categories such as music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, audiobooks, and radio. This proves to be very handy to people who might not be computer savvy and need simple instruction–think of those ____ for dummies books. Also if you’re in the mood for listening to some new tunes/buying new music, the itunes store button is conveniently placed on the left  scrollbar as well. Playlists aren’t hard to manage or create, either. The plus button on the bottom left creates the new playlists and you can name it to your desire. However, if you still can’t find it you can just click on File > New Playlist or just command [] N. Next to the plus or create a new playlist button is the shuffle button if you want to listen to a random array of songs. Next to the shuffle button is the repeat button and then there’s an album art button next to that which isn’t really useful but it’s just a nice aesthetic to have.  The center part is just as easy to figure out as the left scrollbar. The titles are categorized under name, time, artist, album by artist, genre, rating, play count and last played. You can click on whichever one of these tabs to alphabetize the names of the titles under whichever category you pick. If that doesn’t work for you, you can just go to View > Cover or View> Cover Flow if the list option just isn’t for you. There’s also little buttons to do this for you on the upper right next to the Search bar which can help you look for specific songs or artists. The newer iTunes interfaces (8.0 and above) have a browser that makes looking for titles easier. You can view the browser by just putting in Command () B or just go to the top bar and find View > Show Browser. To illustrate everything I just summarized, I’m going to put up a screencap of my iTunes. Easy navigating = happy person or happy Minji.
